There are three basic types of foraminiferal tests:

• organic-walled
• agglutinated (cemented foreign particles/grains)

- with organic cement

- with calcareous cement

• calcareous from secreted calcium carbonate (calcite or aragonite)

- microgranular

- porcellaneous

- hyaline (glassy)

- secreted ???silica (very uncertain)
